You Don't Have to Figure Everything Out Alone

Sometimes you know exactly what's bothering you. Other times, you just know you're overwhelmed, disconnected, frustrated, anxious, or not feeling like yourself.

Therapy can give you a place to slow things down, understand what's happening, and start making changes that feel manageable.

I work with teens (14+) and adults who want a therapist who will listen without judgment while also helping them develop practical ways to move forward. Our work is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to what you need—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

What Therapy With Me Looks Like

Therapy should feel like more than simply talking about what's wrong. Our sessions are a space to better understand yourself, recognize patterns, build practical skills, and work toward changes that make sense for your life.

You can expect a supportive and judgment-free environment where you're encouraged to be open, ask questions, and move at a pace that feels comfortable. I’ll listen, but I’ll also help you challenge unhelpful patterns, explore new perspectives, and identify practical steps you can use outside of therapy.

Our work may include:

Building Practical Coping Skills
Develop tools for managing stress, difficult emotions, communication, and everyday challenges.

Understanding Patterns
Explore thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and experiences that may be affecting how you feel today.

Creating Meaningful Goals
Identify what you want to change and develop realistic steps toward getting there.

Strengthening Self-Awareness
Better understand your emotions, needs, boundaries, triggers, and responses.

Making Therapy Fit You
Your experiences are unique, so therapy shouldn't feel one-size-fits-all. We'll shape our work around your needs, goals, and progress.

About Kentrell Thomas, LICSW

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy to individuals and families across Alabama. I work with teens (14+), adults, caregivers, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use, and significant life stress.

My background includes work in community mental health, substance use treatment, crisis support, and care coordination. I’ve supported people with a wide range of needs — from everyday stress and emotional overwhelm to serious mental illness and recovery from trauma. No matter what brings you to therapy, my goal is to create a space where you feel respected, understood, and supported.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based care. I use therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and other proven techniques to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, practical, and connected to your real life.

Seeking support takes courage. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to schedule a free consultation so we can talk about what you’re hoping for and see if working together feels like the right fit.
